Wendy Morris,  Attorney at Law

When Wendy Morris opened the firm of Morris Law Offices, LLC she added another first to her personal resume. The first-born daughter and first-generation American of hard-working Irish parents who immigrated to America on their honeymoon, she’s also the first person in her family to graduate, not only from college, but from law school too.

Wendy had originally planned on being an architect until she discovered that the world of words intrigued her more than a set of blueprints. She graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey with a bachelor of arts in English and continued her studies at Florida State University in Tallahassee where she received her Juris Doctor in 1991.  She was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida that same year.

With more than 17-years of experience practicing law, Wendy has the knowledge and proven expertise to achieve her goals and to provide comprehensive legal counsel to individuals, organizations and to small and medium-sized businesses in Southwest Florida, with a concentration in business development and organization, contractual law, estate planning, labor and employment law and family law.

Prior to opening Morris Law Offices, Wendy was employed as general counsel for Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. Preceding that position, she was the associate general counsel for the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. In both positions, her responsibilities were all encompassing, further strengthening her negotiating and organizational skills.

Previous to practicing law in an academic setting, she served as counsel for human resource and labor relation issues for the Florida Board of Regents. She has also represented the State of Florida as an assistant attorney general in the Appellate Branch of the Civil Litigation Division, as well as in the Criminal Appeals Division.

Ms. Morris is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a mediator for family law and dissolution of marriage matters.
